Addressing a message

  • How to specify a destination address

When you are addressing a message you can either select an address from the address book, fill one in using the fax/e-mail templates or directly type in a destination into the To, Cc or Bcc fields. When you manually fill in an address into the To, CC or Bcc fields, the address must be in one of the following formats:

Fax destinations

<ConnType> ["]<Fax Number>["][;<Contact>][;<CSID>][;<Company>]
<ConnType>;["]<Fax Number>["][;<Contact>][;<CSID>][;<Company>]
<ConnType>:["]<Fax Number>["][;<Contact>][;<CSID>][;<Company>]

With <ConnType> being FX or FAX

e.g.

FX +323412546;Support
FX +323412546;Support;;Coteng
FX +323412546;Support;;Coteng
FX;+323412546;Support
Fax +323412546;Support;;Coteng
Fax;+323412546;Support

Notice that its good pratice to always use the full international fax number. This means: always use [international access code]+[country code]+[area code]+[fax number] (e.g. +32 (0)3 326 42 79). Our server is located in (Antwerp) Belgium and fax messages will also be send from this location.

e-mail destinations

["]<e-mail address>["][;<Contact>][;<Company>]
["]<e-mail address>["][;<Contact>][;<Company>]
["]<e-mail address>["][;<Contact>][;<Company>]

e.g.

sales@coteng.com
sales@coteng.com;Sales Department;Coteng
"sales@coteng.com";Sales Department;Coteng
sales@coteng.com;Sales Department;Coteng

Multiple destinations

You can address a message to multiple people at once. To separate the different addresses you can either place each address between [brackets] and separate them with a semicolon:

or you can put each address on a separate line:
